OBSI hosts annual meeting of financial services ombuds from around the world

OBSI is honoured to host financial services ombudsmen from around the world at the 2024 annual conference of the International Network of Financial Services Ombudsman Schemes (INFO Network), which is taking place in Toronto from September 29 to October 2, 2024.   

The INFO Network Members Conference provides a unique platform for discussing common challenges, best practices and new opportunities in external dispute resolution. During the conference, OBSI’s senior staff, along with delegates from over 30 countries, will participate in three days of stimulating and thought-provoking discussions in this dynamic field.

Every year the conference is hosted by a different INFO Network member, highlighting practices and insights from the various regions of the world. At the 2024 Conference we have the opportunity to showcase the best of Canadian expertise and innovation. Conference delegates will hear presenters from around the world, including an impressive lineup of Canadian experts. Topics for this year’s conference include:  

  • Advances in consumer fraud protection internationally
  • Recent Canadian successes and ongoing challenges in fighting frauds and scams 
  • Advances in applications of AI in alternate dispute resolution
  • Technological developments for case management and data management systems
  • Financial education for consumers and the role of the ombudservice

  • Fintech implications for financial consumers and dispute resolution
  • Approaches to transparency for financial ombudservices

About the International Network of Financial Services Ombudsman Schemes

INFO Network is the worldwide association for financial services ombudsmen. Established in 2007, the INFO Network has 57 member organizations from 37 countries across four global regions (Eurasia, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Americas). All Members of INFO Network are ‘ombudsman schemes’ operating as independent, out-of-court dispute resolution mechanisms in banking, investments, insurance, credit, financial advice, pensions and superannuation. OBSI is a founding member of INFO Network.
